Freshly baked for you to enjoy
Three weeks of the month you can buy my bread on a TUESDAY at Glastonbury market between 8am and 12.30pm. Monthly, I sell my bread with the Dorset Farmers markets on the first SATURDAY of the month at Shaftesbury, and on the third FRIDAY of the month at Sherborne; with Devon Farmers markets at Cullompton on the second SATURDAY of the month; and with Somerset Farmers markets on the third SATURDAY of the month at Nailsea, and on the fourth SATURDAY of the month at Crewkerne, all between 8am and 1pm. In addition, I can take pre-orders by text or phone for collection from my doorstep anytime after 7.30am on MARKET DAYS ONLY. Deliveries can be arranged (£20 minimum order) on market days in the same area. Payment for collections by cash please.

About Baker in a Beanie
I have been baking my own bread ever since moving to Somerset nearly 20 years ago. First in a bread machine and, when that blew up, by hand. I quickly found a real passion for the art of baking, having a go at everything from a traditional farmhouse loaf to Irish soda bread. Then, in May 2023, when my livelihood disappeared overnight with the emergence of AI in the writing world, I turned to my hobby and set up Baker in a Beanie.

The Breads
Using only the finest ancient grains, and with nothing but organic ingredients, the breads on offer are: the Rustic, a wonderful country loaf made with light spelt and einkorn; the Farmhouse, a delicious traditional tinned loaf made with light spelt and khorasan; the Provençal Rye, a mouthwatering moist rye with no added sugars, and the Irish, a traditional yeast-free soda bread made with light spelt and emmer and a dairy-free buttermilk. I also make Irish soda bread rolls to order. And for the larger markets I have Baguettes available, too, wonderful French-style loaves but with a soft-crust, made with spelt and emmer.
